TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo) Johnny Gerard Plate and the Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Tuesday ratified the joint decree (SKB) on the nation’s Covid-19 vaccination unified data information system.

The signing marks the follow-up of the government’s commitment to establishing a legal standing overseeing the unified data management of the vaccination program.

“Supported by an accurate, sophisticated, and accountable data management system, we collectively hope the inaugural vaccination will run smoothly,” said Minister Johnny on Tuesday, January 12.

This comes as the government is running the final preparation stages of the national vaccination program after the Sinovac vaccine received the emergency use authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drugs Monitoring Agency (BPOM) on Monday and the halal certification from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

The Communications and Informatics Ministry will be responsible for overseeing three aspects which include the integration of the government contact-tracing app Peduli Lindungi, the vaccination’s information system integration management, and guaranteeing the security and reliability of personal data utilization.
