TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said that he would follow the decision of the Health Agency regarding the planned Covid-19 vaccination for him and Governor Anies Baswedan.
"We entrust it to the Health Agency. I am neither a doctor nor an expert. I will just follow [the agency's decision]," said Riza at the City Hall on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
Anies and Riza were not classified as citizens who are prioritized to get first doses of Covid-19 vaccine as they had been infected with the disease and already recovered so they were considered to have the antibodies.
However, Riza said that he was ready to get the shot should the Health Agency include his name on the priority list.
The first stage of the Covid-19 vaccination program will be prioritized for health workers. “Hopefully, in the second and third week of this month, we will start injecting those who will receive it at an early stage,” Riza said.
The city's Head of Health Resources at the Health Agency, Ani Ruspitawati, said on Monday, January 4, 2021, that the capital received 39,200 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. According to her, 80,840 more doses will arrive on January 7, 2021.
