TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head management of Istora Senayan, Jujuk Bandung Windargo, on Monday denied the rumors suggesting Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) indoor stadium had accommodated Covid-19 patients.

His clarification comes after a video, showing dozens of people seemingly evacuating into a sports stadium, which was rumored to be located at Istora Senayan, circulated. The video also shows four people wearing hazmat suits or personal protection equipment (PPE) monitoring the people.

“That video is a hoax,” Jujuk confirmed to Tempo on December 28. "[Istora Senayan] is currently empty because there has been no sports activities or events."

Meanwhile, the Jakarta Health Agency’s head of disease prevention and control, Dwi Oktavia, on Monday said that her office was not informed about the origins of the video nor the location. Dwi said the location in the video was not an appointed isolation facility provided by Jakarta Administration for Covid-19 patients.
