TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial government was striving to anticipate a spike in Covid-19 cases following the year-end holiday. The city’s Health Agency Head of Disease Prevention and Control, Dwi Oktavia, said her side keeps increasing 3T efforts, viz. testing, tracing, and treatment.
“We are increasing our efforts in conducting close contact tracing,” said Dwi on Friday, Dec. 25, 2020. Jakarta, she added, targeted to carry out PCR tests on 10,000 specimens per day.
Besides, the city administration was improving health facilities, especially adding more isolation rooms and intensive care unit (ICU) rooms for patients diagnosed with the coronavirus disease, given that over 80 percent of existing isolation and ICU rooms were occupied.
As of December 20, 2020, the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the city reached 85 percent, or 5,691 patients occupied 6,663 existing beds. Meanwhile, 722 of 907 ICU beds were used, by means the rate hit 80 percent. Jakarta has thus far had 98 referral hospitals for Covid-19 patients.
