BMKG Warns of Huge Waves Lurking Indonesia's Waters

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning of potential high waves up to over two meters in a number of Indonesian waters, early Thursday, December 17, 2020.
Based on the information uploaded on the agency’s page www.bmkg.go.id, the height of waves in Bali waters, particularly Bali Strait, Badung Strait, and the Indian Ocean South of Bali, would likely be over two meters.
In the southern waters of Central Kalimantan, sea wave height was estimated to be between 1.25 meters to 2 meters.
Meanwhile, in the south of Lombok Strait, the southern part of Alas Strait, the Indian Ocean south of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and the southern part of Sape Strait, the sea waves were estimated to reach two meters or more.
The report further said that moderate sea waves of 1.25-2.5 meters potentially occurred in the southern part of Makassar Strait, the western part of Makassar's Spermonde Waters, Sabalana Waters, Selayar Islands Waters, and the Flores Sea.
