TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria announced that city administrators will support and apply the 75 percent remote working or ‘work from home’ (WFH) policy instructed by Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. The policy is deemed to start on December 18, 2020.

“We ask everyone to obey [the instruction] and we will beef up the yustisi operation (a police operation), especially ahead of the new year’s eve celebrations,” said Riza Patria at the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) on December 15.

As reported earlier, the Jakarta Employment Agency (BKD) announced it would issue a circular requiring regional companies to open offices at 25 percent of the capacity as instructed by Coordinating Minister Luhut Pandjaitan.

Chaidir added that the 75 percent Work From Home (WFH) policy will take effect beginning December 18, 2020, until January 8, 2021. The circular was drafted following Luhut's order in a joint meeting on Monday, Dec. 14.

Since the second phase of the Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB), the Jakarta administration allowed companies to reopen offices at 50 percent of the capacity and 50 percent remote working in accordance with the Regulation of the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry.

Ahead of Christmas and New Year 2021, the central government decided to decrease the office attendance capacity to 25 percent in a bid to prevent Covid-19 transmission.
