TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara or Museum MACAN is set to present offline and online exhibitions in January 2021 to celebrate the New Year.

Museum MACAN Foundation chairwoman Fenessa Adikoesoemo said art had allowed people to reflect on personal and communal challenges and strengthened one another. Art also serves as the marker of unique circumstances that change the way of life, she added.

“I believe a solid program and full attention to the safety of visitors will enable our customers from across Indonesia to discover art in a safe yet enjoyable environment,” said Fenessa in her statement on Monday, December 14, 2020.

From January to May 2021, there will be an exhibition of contemporary art from Southeast Asia titled Stories Across Rising Lands that focuses on daily events and narratives that shape social and cultural relationships in a place.

The show was curated by the museum’s curator, Asep Topan, and Jakarta-based Korean curator Jeong Ok Jeon, and features eight artists and an artist collaboration.

People willing to visit Museum MACAN must register themselves online via the official website or online ticketing services. The tickets will be limited to a maximum of 100 people per session. However, there will be four slots per day. Visitors are also obliged to adhere to the predetermined health protocols.
