TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In order to improve tourists’ convenience in enjoying holiday in their area, the Garut Regency Government of West Java was preparing a digital tourism program.

“Tickets will be sold online with electronic payment. We are planning it,” said Garut Tourism and Culture Head Budi Gan Gan in Garut, Saturday, Nov. 28.

According to Budi, tourist attractions will be equipped with the internet. The government would also prepare a digital tourism map, online shopping and delivery, and CCTV-based destination through which tourists' activities could be seen.

“So later in Situ Cangkuang, tourists do not need to bring cash, they can be cashless and use barcodes and others [in tourist destinations] because everything will be digital,” said Budi.

He explained that the program was carried out to keep up with the digital era to ease public activities, including in the tourism sector. He hoped that the technology to be applied will be wisely used by the public, especially tourism business players in developing tourism potential in Garut.

Digital tourism must be based on collaboration between artificial and human intelligence,” Budi underlined.
