TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dwi Oktavia, the Head of Disease Prevention and Control Unit of Jakarta Health Agency, informed there were 1,436 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 discovered today, Nov. 27. Of the number, 1,215 cases came from the results of PCR tests on 13,081 people.

The rest 221 cases, meanwhile, originated from the accumulated data submitted by private hospitals and state-owned enterprises during the past week that had just been reported.

The city’s active cases today increased by 624. “So the total active cases until date reach 9,265, they are under treatment or self-isolation,” said Dwi in a written statement.

She explained that Jakarta has thus far logged 132,961 coronavirus cases. Of these, 121,082 people have been declared cured, bringing the city’s recovery rate to 91.1 percent.

The capital also recorded 2,614 deaths with a mortality rate of 2 percent. “Indonesia's death rate is 3.2 percent,” Dwi added.

Throughout the past week, the Jakarta Health Agency recorded a COVID-19 positivity rate at 8.1 percent, while the cumulative rate since the onset of the pandemic was 8.3 percent. The figure, however, was still above the recommended standard set by WHO of 5 percent at maximum.
