Indonesia Hits Another Daily Record of COVID-19 Within One Week

TEMPO.CO, JakartaIndonesia broke a new record of all-time daily high of COVID-19 cases on Thursday, Nov. 27, only two days after the previous record set on Nov. 25. As of 12 p.m. today, the government logged 5,828 positive infections in the last 24 hours.

With the additional number, the country’s total tally reached 522,581 since the first cases found on March 2, 2020. On Wednesday, Nov. 25, Indonesia noted 5,534 new daily cases.

Meanwhile, the number of recoveries on the day increased by 3,807, bringing the total figure of recovered patients to 437,456. They have been declared cured based on the results of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) examinations that turned back negative for the coronavirus.

Indonesia is also still recording deaths: 169 more patients have died of the disease. Thus, the total number of coronavirus-related deaths was 16,521.

The information was published by the COVID-19 mitigation task force, which is accessible to the public on Covid19.go.id website.
