Covid-19 Hospitalizations in Wisma Atlet Rises

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of patients hospitalized with Covid-19 in Tower 6 and 7 of Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital Kemayoran, South Jakarta, increased by 93.

The hospital spokesman Col. Aris Mudian reported there were 1,911 patients as of 8 a.m. Friday, November 20. “Comprising 918 men and 993 women,” he added in a written statement today, Nov. 20.

He said there were also 106 more people contracting the coronavirus and were undergoing isolation in Tower and 5, pushing the total to 1,126.

The athlete’s dormitory has been set as an emergency hospital since March 23, 2020. To date, 26,034 patients developing mild and moderate symptoms are treated in Tower 6 and 7. A total of 23.662 of them have made recoveries and discharged, eight patients died, and 453 others were referred to other medical facilities.

Meanwhile, Tower 4 and 5 have been designated as isolation venues since September 15, 2020. As of this morning, there were 14,265 asymptomatic carriers registered with 14,052 people declared cured and two others were referred to other facilities.

The national Covid-19 mitigation task force reported that Indonesia has 483,518 positive cases as of 12 p.m. Thursday, November 19. Some 406,612 patients have recovered, and 15,600 patients succumbed to the illness.
