TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government was expediting the drafting of 40 government regulations (PP) and four presidential regulations (Perpres) as the derivative rules of Job Creation Law, which was expected to be completed this week.

“We are pushing the acceleration of the draft government regulations (RPP) in the government so that it can be uploaded to the official site to be accessed and downloaded by the public for input and suggestions regarding the draft substance,” said the Secretary of Coordinating Ministry of Economy, Susiwijono Moegiarso, in a statement on Sunday, November 15, 2020.

Until the end of last week, all ministries and institutions had completed deliberations of 24 RPP, while the rest were being synchronized.

Susiwijono explained that the government opened up space for the public to participate in the drafting of the derivative rules through physical access in Cipta Kerja Post in the Pos Besar Building in Central Jakarta and online access via uu-ciptakerja.go.id.

Besides, the government would disseminate and hold public consultations regarding the law in various regions, he informed.

The enactment of the Job Creation Law sparked public rejections from civil society coalitions, especially workers who considered that several articles reduced workers’ rights.
