TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, and Security Mahfud MD on Thursday said the government has prepared a security code upon the return of Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader Rizieq Shihab on November 10, as an anticipative measure as his followers are expected to pack the streets and airport.

Mahfud MD firmly warned people who intend to pick up the FPI leader to always abide by existing COVID-19 health protocols and avoid creating chaos at all costs.

“Because Rizieq Shihab will return home with [the spirit of] moral revolution (revolusi akhlak). So those who create chaos are not Rizieq’s followers and we will fight those who do,” wrote Mahfud MD in a written statement on Thursday, November 5.

Previously on November 4, Rizieq Shihab announced through FPI’s broadcast Front TV that he intends to return to Indonesia on Monday, November 9, from Saudi Arabia and arrive in Jakarta on November 10. Rizieq claimed he was no longer tangled in overstay issues in Saudi Arabia.
