Soekarno-Hatta Comments on Rizieq Shihab's Return to Indonesia

5 November 2020 15:49 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader Rizieq Shihab will reportedly return to Indonesia on November 10 after spending months in self-exile in Saudi Arabia. The figure that has been linked to numerous controversies will land at Soekarno-Hatta Airport run by state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II).

AP II corporate communications VP, Yado Yarismano, said that the security will be beefed up upon Rizieq’s arrival and will impose strict health protocols as many of his followers are expected to welcome him home.

Previously reported, a number of mass-organizations joined in the West Java Islamic Movement Alliance (API) announced that they will be picking up the FPI leader and they ready to “make Jakarta white” - as most of the members are known to wear white clothes.

Followers of Rizieq Shihab already scheduled a number of events the imam will attend as he returns to Jakarta.
