Contraflow Traffic Applied on Jakarta-Cikampek Toll during Long Weekend Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A contraflow traffic system is applied on Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road during October’s long weekend holiday beginning today until November 1. The traffic adjustment is in place on a 10-kilometer toll road towards Cikampek in a bid to ease congestion.
Spokesperson of State-owned toll operator Jasa Marga Trans Java Tollroad Regional Division, Corry Annelia Poundti, via a press release said that the traffic system was set this morning from KM 47 to KM 61 towards Cikampek.
The contraflow system is expected to ease vehicle congestion in several areas of the toll road, such as KM 48 that is a meeting point of two traffic flows from the elevated toll road and the non-elevated toll road.
The enforcement of the traffic system is part of the police discretion. Jasa Marga mobilized personnel and installed signs to support the policy.
Besides the traffic adjustment, rest areas in the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road are closed during the long weekend holiday to prevent congestion caused by the line of vehicles entering the rest area.
