TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo said that Indonesia's efforts in mitigating the Covid-19 pandemic have improved. During a limited meeting at Jakarta Merdeka Palace on Monday, October 26, 2020, Jokowi said that the country's average rate of active cases stood at 16.08 percent as of October 25, 2020.

"This [figure] is lower than the global average that reaches 23.73 percent," said the President when opening the session regarding the plan on the procurement of Covid-19 vaccines and immunization.

Jokowi added that compared to the previous month, the country's average death cases also dropped from 3.83 percent to 3.41 percent. However, the rate was still above the global average.

"This is slightly higher than the world's death rate of 2.68 percent," Jokowi said.

The average recovery cases, meanwhile, increased to 80.51 percent. Jokowi reported that the rate was above the world recovery rate of 73.60 percent.

"I think all of us need to know these three facts that our hard work results in the figures that I conveyed earlier," the President remarked.
