TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjatan said the schedule for Covid-19 vaccination will be delayed from the target set in the second week of November 2020.
The delay in the schedule for vaccination was because the National Agency of Drug and Food Control or BPOM requires time to issue emergency use of authorization.
Previously, President Joko Widodo or Jokowi told Luhut that the vaccine was ready.
"The vaccine is ready but BPOM can yet to issue the emergency use authorization as there are steps and regulations to follow," he said Friday, October 23.
Therefore, according to Luhut , Jokowi did not want to take a risk and follow the regulation instead.
"The president said safety is number one. I think the government respects the rule."
