TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government is allocating around Rp1 trillion from the national economic recovery (PEN) loan for the water resources agency. The fund will be used to finance several flood prevention projects in the capital this year.

Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said on Thursday, October 23, that the fund will be allocated for projects such as dredging waste in rivers, building drainage, repairing pumps and land acquisition.

He hopes that the budget can be absorbed optimally, so as to reduce flooding.

The Jakarta Provincial Government received a loan of Rp12.5 trillion from the central government through Sarana Multi Infrastruktur. The loan is given in stages until 2022.

For 2020, said Riza, the amount of funds received is Rp3.2 trillion; comprising of Rp1 trillion for flood prevention and Rp2.2 trillion for transportation and cultural infrastructure.
