TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Virtual tour has become an alternative for managers of tourist attractions to attract tourists during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) of Borobudur, Prambanan, Ratu Boko and the Borobudur Conservation Hall in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo to present a virtual tour of Borobudur Temple for Japanese people.

"The goal is to introduce Borobudur Temple to Japanese citizens," TWC company secretary Emilia Eny Utari said in Magelang, Monday, October 19. For this purpose, the virtual tour is in Japanese.

The virtual tour of Borobudur Temple was broadcast live via the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo's Instagram account. It garnered thousands of views. Ten people also watched a live virtual tour from the Indonesian Embassy in Japan. They can directly interact with the tour guide at Borobudur Temple.

Even though visitors cannot be physically present at the site, virtual tours can still provide a memorable experience. Tourists are invited to a private tour of each destination.

Virtual tours are also safe, without risks of contracting Covid-19. This has also become a new euphoria in traveling during the digital era amidst the global pandemic.
