TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The COVID-19 mitigation task force reported that the number of patients who died from the new coronavirus disease in Bali kept soaring.

The task force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito explained that the province’s case fatality rate on September 27, was 2.97 percent and rose to 3.11 percent on October 4, and 3.17 percent on October 11.

Due to this fact, Wiku asked the Bali administration to suppress the death rate.

“Improving the quality of covid referral hospitals and adding independent isolation rooms or emergency hospitals are necessary to reduce the death rate,” said Wiku in a virtual press conference on Thursday, October 15, 2020.

The task force also called on Balinese residents to carry out medical checkup once they experience symptoms of the disease. People are highly advised to adhere to the predetermined health protocol.

“To the citizens of Bali, please check your health immediately if you experience the symptoms of COVID-19 so that you can be treated as early as possible,” Wiku remarked.

He has been stressing the importance of complying with the health protocol as an effort to break the chain of coronavirus transmission, such as maintaining physical distance, wearing face masks, washing hands with soap or using hand sanitizer.
