TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said the city administration was mulling over limiting the operational hours of restaurants until 6 p.m. during the Large-scale Social Restrictions or PSBB.

During the PSBB Volume 2, restaurants and shopping centers in the capital are allowed to open until 8 p.m.

“In Jakarta, malls are open until 8 p.m. We will review and evaluate it later,” Riza at the Lebak Bulus MRT Depo, South Jakarta, Friday, October 2, 2020.

Riza said he would first observe the effectiveness of such restrictions, which were applied in Bekasi beginning today.

Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi issued a circular regarding the tightening of the micro-scale social restrictions in his region as of October 2, 2020. The policy curbs out-of-home activities until 6 p.m. at maximum.

“[It is issued under] considerations about the national and regional situations that show a high number of positive COVID-19 cases,” said Rahmat in the circular, which was signed on Thursday, October 1, 2020.
