TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta recorded 1,257 fresh confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the tally to 70,184 cases.

Based on data released by the Jakarta Provincial Administration, Jakarta added 1,133 fresh cases on Sept 24, a decrease from 1,187 fresh cases on the previous day (Sept 23),.

The number of COVID-19 cases has tended to decrease since the Jakarta Government decided to re-impose the Large Scale Social Distancing (PSBB) measure from Sept 14 to Sept 28. To further slow down the COVID-19 spread, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided to extend the PSBB until Oct 11, 2020.

Prior to the PSBB implementation, Jakarta witnessed a spike in the number of confirmed cases.

The capital city recorded 1,505 fresh confirmed cases on Sept 16, and 1,440 fresh cases on Sept 12.

The total average PCR test per one million population is 84,110. The number of people tested for PCR in the past week was 70,047.

As of Friday (24/9), a total of 1,224,789 specimens have been examined with the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests in Jakarta's 54 laboratories.

As many as 998 people recovered from COVID-19 in Jakarta, bringing the recovery tally to 55,350 people.

The rate of recovering patients reached some 78.9 percent of the total confirmed cases.
A total of 13,155 COVID-19 patients were still receiving medical treatment or in isolation room, while the death toll reached 1,679 as of Sept 26, 2020.

Anies Baswedan had imposed PSBB for the first time in mid March and extended it until April 2020.
