TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Labor Office of Jakarta temporarily closed 134 companies during the relaxation period of large-scale social restrictions, known as Transitional PSBB (PSBB Transisi), from June 5 to September 13, 2020.

The Labor Office chief, Andri Yansah, said that 116 of the companies were those with confirmed cases of Covid-19. The remaining 18 were companies that violated the rule of having no more than 50 percent of the employees present, as a health protocol mandated by the government.

"Apart from the 134 which were closed, we also imposed fines on one company," Andri said on Tuesday, September 15.

In Central Jakarta, 35 companies were closed after becoming a Covid-19 cluster. There were also nine offices in West Jakarta, 10 in North Jakarta, 28 in East Jakarta, and 34 in South Jakarta.

For the second period of lockdown or PSBB, the Jakarta Labor Office is preparing 25 monitoring teams to check on companies' implementation of health protocols. During this second restriction, the Jakarta administration limits office attendance to just 25 percent of building capacity.
