TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Agency called on offices to comply with the predetermined health protocols during the large-scale social restrictions or PSBB Volume 2.

The agency head Andri Yansah said the government would not hesitate to re-enforce 100 percent closure of workplaces should there be a hike in violations and Covid-19 cases during the reimposed PSBB.

“Do not blame us if one day we tighten the PSBB again,” he said via a phone call on Tuesday, September 15.

According to Andri, offices neglecting the health protocols are potential to infect workers with the coronavirus disease. Besides, they were asked to be transparent when there are positive cases.

“If companies cannot participate [in this Covid-19 handling], the reimposition of PSBB will be useless,” he remarked.

In the Jakarta PSBB Volume 2, workplaces in non-essential sectors are allowed to remain open at 25 percent of normal capacity, while the operation of essential offices is limited to 50 percent of capacity.

“Essential-sector offices having more than 50 percent of capacity will still be closed. It does not mean that the offices in that category are exempted from the policy,” Andri underlined.

The Jakarta Manpower Agency has formed 25 teams tasked to oversee the implementation of health protocols in offices. Each team consists of four people. The regional government also urged each company to form an internal supervisor by appointing an existing committee of occupational health and safety (P2K3).
