TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said most of the activities in offices will remain operating through the flexible working hours policy although Jakarta reimposed the large-scale social restriction or PSBB starting Monday, September 14.

“Talking about Jakarta that will reimplement PSBB next week, we’d like to announce that most offices will operate under flexible working hours policy. 50 percent of employees work from home and the rest 50 percent work at offices and 11 sectors will stay open,” said Airlangga via a video conference on Thursday, September 10.

The Coordinating Minister also asked Anies to evaluate the odd-even traffic policy in the capital city, given the data revealing that the majority of Covid-19 transmission allegedly occurred in public transportation.

“Jakarta has enforced full PSBB, transitional PSBB, and is set to impose total PSBB again. Because the data show that 62 percent of positive cases treated in Kemayoran Hospital come from public transportation. So several policies must be evaluated, including odd-even traffic policy,” said Airlangga.

Anies Baswedan last night, September 9, announced that Jakarta was set to pull the emergency brake policy. Thus, offices would not be allowed to operate starting Monday, September 14, except those of 11 essential sectors.
