TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bogor Deputy Mayor Dedie Rachim confirmed there are still 28 active family clusters with Covid-19 infection from the total tally of 43 family clusters in the city.

“This means, 28 families are practicing independent isolation or being treated in hospitals,” said Dedie on Wednesday, August 26.

He detailed that the 28 families consisted of 79 positive people. One of the clusters was a family in Semplak, West Bogor, with a total of 35 confirmed cases.

Most of the patients from the family clusters were asymptomatic carriers. Thus, Dedie appealed to people who came home from work or outside to clean themselves first before interacting with their family members.

Dedie said such clusters had emerged before the pre-adaptation of the new habit period of the large-scale social restriction (PSBB Pra-AKB) was enforced. Yet the number keeps increasing, and to date, there are 43 clusters found with 157 cases.

As of August 23, the family cluster was the largest source of virus transmission, contributing 31.98 percent of the total Covid-19 cases in Bogor City.
