TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta's health authorities said that over the past week the positivity rate of Covid-19 in the city was recorded at 8.6 percent. That number is smaller compared to Tuesday's rate of 9.2 percent.

Despite the decline, the number is still above the standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO).

"The WHO also sets a standard percentage of positive cases of no more than 5 percent," said Dwi Oktavia, head of disease prevention and control at Jakarta's Health Office.

On Wednesday, August 19, Jakarta recorded 565 new confirmed cases. Dwi said that the cases were obtained after conducting PCR tests on 5.095 specimens.

As per today, Jakarta has 9,047 active cases. Since the start of the pandemic, the Indonesian capital has recorded a total of 31,362 positive cases, with 21,069 recoveries and 1,046 deaths.
