TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta added its visitors' capacity from 1,000 to 2,000 people to accommodate the increasing number of tourists since the relaxation of the Covid-19 restriction or PSBB.

"We've increased the visitors' capacity to 2,000 people per day since three weeks ago," said Ketut Widarsana, the head of zoo promotion unit on Saturday, August 1.

The highest number of visitors during the transitional PSBB period only reached more than 1,800 people at around three weeks ago.

The wildlife park managed under Jakarta Administration was reopened for tourists on June 20, after the closure for more than three months since March 14.

Ragunan limited the number of visitors to only 1,000 after the reopening. Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, it could attract 5,000 and 25,000 visitors on the weekends.
