TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Wishnutama Kusubandio - ahead of the opening of Bali tourism for local tourists - reminded businesses in the tourism industry to always put forth the aspects that directly affect tourists such as health, security, and complacency.
The minister said that tourism is a business built upon trust. "This is why businesses in the tourism and creative economy sector in Bali must perform the current health protocols to help build tourists’ trust and the sense of security upon visiting Bali,” Wishnutama said in a written statement today, July 29.
The Bali Provincial Government will gradually reopen the tourism activities amid the region’s COVID-19 “new normal” phase starting on July 9, 2020. This is done to help spark the local economy.
On July 31, Bali’s tourism industry will be opened for domestic tourists. Meanwhile, the resort island will start to open the entire tourism gates, including for international tourists, on September 11.
According to Wishnutama, the Indonesian government has imposed a number of programs and assistance for businesses in the tourism and creative economy industry such as tax relaxation, social assistance, bailouts, airfare discounts, and tour packages.
