TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta during the transitional PSBB (large-scale social restriction) has yet flattened the ‘infection curve’ as Tempo found that the number of daily cases for the last three days exceeded 200 cases.

Based on the records from the Jakarta Health Agency on July 4th, the number of infected patients reached 12,039 people, compared to the total cases from the day prior that amounted to 11,824 cases. This means there were 215 new cases within one day.

On July 5, COVID-19 cases reached 12,295 cases with a 256 increase. Meanwhile, July 6 recorded 12,526 cases which means there had been 231 new confirmed daily cases.

“Based on the Health Agency’s data on July 6, there have been 231 new daily cases which accumulate to a total of 12,526 daily cases,'' said Jakarta Health Agency’s Disease Control and Prevention Head, Dwi Oktavia in Monday’s Youtube press release.

However, looking into the positives, the transitional PSBB also continues to show an increased number of recoveries as on July 6 there have been 8,036 patients who recovered from COVID-19 infection while the death toll has reached 493.
