TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had reportedly passed regulations on the transit-oriented development (TOD) in three MRT station areas, namely Lebak Bulus, Fatmawati, and Blok M-ASEAN, the MRT Jakarta CEO William Sabandar confirmed.

“Gubernatorial regulations or Pergub related to the guideline of city layout has been issued and inaugurated for three first areas,” said William in an online press conference on Thursday, July 2.

He outlined that the Pergub 55/2020 noted the TOD project in Blok M-Asean Station, the Pergub 56/2020 for the project in Fatmawati Station, and Pergub 57/2020 for the project in Lebak Bulus Station.

According to William, the TOD in Lebak Bulus would be a gateway to southern Jakarta, and its project was started with a pedestrian bridge that connects Points Square shopping mall to the station or online ojek posts.

The TOD in Fatmawati, meanwhile, focused on regional development by relying on dynamic areas. William added that the 490,000-meter-square areas would be developed later and the TOD in Blok M-ASEAN station would be set as a green area.

PT MRT Jakarta would act as the management of the TOD areas, while the construction project was under a new regional-owned firm PT Integrasi Transit Jakarta. William said the establishment had entered a final step and would be completed in early July 2020.

In addition to the three station areas, MRT Jakarta planned to develop the TOD in two stations, namely Dukuh Atas and Istora-Senayan, pending on the policy issuance.
