TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Social Ministry today, July 1, reported that it needs Rp1.3 trillion. Minister Juliari Batubara stated the fund would be used to verify and validate the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) in 34 provinces throughout 2021.

“We need the budget that we hope it will be supported by the Bappenas and Finance Ministry in order to verify and validate the DTKS so that we can monitor all regencies/cities and provinces,” said Juliari in a meeting at the House of Representatives' (DPR) Commission VIII on Wednesday, July 1.

He mentioned that the Social Affairs Ministry received an indicative budget ceiling of Rp425 billion for 2021. With the figure, the ministry could only focus on verifying and validating data of recipients of the Family Hope Program (PKH) and the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT).

The target for the data verification and validation by using the budget, Juliari went on, was 12 million households across 32 provinces; Papua and West Papua are not included.

“I ask data of PKH and assistance programs to be verified and validated, whether the 10 million PKH recipients and more than 15 million recipients of the aid are still worthy [to earn the assistance] considering the budget is only Rp425 billion,” he added.

If the proposal of the additional budget is approved, Juliari Batubara said the Social Ministry could verify and validate the data of poverty in all Indonesian provinces.
