TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The management of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) cultural park stated its readiness to reoperate starting Saturday, June 20, after its temporary closure since the end of April 2020.

“We plan the reopening on June 20, 2020. All sites will be reopened,” said the TMII CEO Tantribali Lamo in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 10.

In order to welcome the implementation of a new normal era during the Covid-19 pandemic, TMII will adopt several preventive measures, including limiting the number of tourists at 50 percent of the total capacity of 60,000 visitors.

“We have two restrictions. First, the number of visitors will be limited in the main gate, and in each gate of sites,” Tantribali said. For example, Birds Park will only accommodate around 400 visitors from its normal capacity of 900 people.

TMII will also apply health protocols by providing handwashing stations, checking visitors’ body temperature, providing face masks, and setting a safe distance.

“Visitors who don’t wear face masks will be given one for free, and they can also purchase it at TMII,” Tantribali added.

In addition, if a visitor has a higher body temperature than normal, they will be referred to a number of hospitals that are partnered with TMII.
