TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - During the transition period from the Large-Scale Social Restriction or PSBB to a new normal phase, Jakarta History Museum, also known as Fatahillah Museum, has received visitors starting Monday, June 8.

“[We record] a total of 45 visitors on Monday (June 8). As for the condition, only healthy people can visit the museum. Toddlers, pregnant women, and elderly are not allowed,” said the museum’s management head Sri Kusumawati to Tempo today, June 9.

Previously, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan permitted the reopening of the city’s museums starting June 8 during the transition period.

“The maximum number of visitors we serve is 50 percent of the museum’s total capacity,” Sri said. However, the management still set certain targets for the figure. “We wish to serve around 100 to 250 people daily in this transition period.”

Visitors, she went on, are required to wear face masks, maintain physical distancing, and wash hands at the provided stations. The officers had also been trained on how to accommodate visitors during this time, and the security officers would routinely monitor the people’s movement inside the museum.

“Several places have been marked with signs to ease visitors in keeping their distance while having activities in the museum,” Sri said.

Before the reopening, Fatahillah Museum had been sprayed with disinfectant. All officers’ body temperature would also be checked every day before work.

“Officers will wear face masks, gloves, and wash their hands when on duty. We have trained them in advance on how to serve visitors in this transition period,” Sri explained.
