TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - City-owned transportation company Transjakarta and its partners has set health protocols during the transition period from the Large-scale Social Restriction (PSBB) to the new normal which applies to its passengers and bus operators.

“This is for the sake of our health and safety,” said the company’s head of public relations department, Nadia Diposanjoyo, in a written statement on Saturday, June 6.

The health protocols include body temperature check for officers and passengers, providing hand sanitizers on the buses and handwashing stations at bus stops, wearing face masks for passengers and officers, maintaining physical distance at the stops and on the bus, and limiting the bus capacity to 50 percent from normal capacity.

The bus interior will be disinfected three times a day and the queue inside the bus stops will be limited to avoid crowds, and the service to top up bus card or new card purchase at the ticketing counter will not be available.

Transjakarta management calls for its passengers to avoid crowds inside the bus and refrain from insisting to enter a full capacity bus set by the management, stay at home if sick, and wear a face mask.

The passengers are also urged to always wash their hands after taking off the bus, not conversing inside the bus with other passengers or on the phone, implementing cough and sneeze etiquettes, avoid physical contact with each other, and follow all of the prevailing regulation and health protocols set by the company.

During the transition period, Transjakarta has yet to re-operate all of its services, following the rules set by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. “It is crucial for Transjakarta to maintain Covid-19 emergency protocols during the transition period as it will affect whether the relaxation will be continued or stopped,” Nadia said.

She went on to say that starting on Friday, June 5, the bus operational hours are from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Special for healthcare workers, the service will be available until midnight.

Meanwhile, the service will only available at main lines, namely Line 1, line 2, line 3, line 3F, Line 4, Line 4C, Line 4D, Line 5, Line 5C, Line 6, Line 6A, Line 6B, Line 7, Line 8, Line 8A, Line 9, Line 10, Line 11, Line 12, Line 13, Line 13 A, Line 13C, and Line 13E.

Besides, Nadia explained, 3 Transjakarta lines will be integrated with KCI’s Commuter Line train (KRL), namely 1B (Palmerah Station – Tosari), 1H (Gondangdia Station), and 6M (Manggarai-Bundaran Senayan).

She added that services for healthcare workers such as TTMP, TRS, and Transcare will operate normally, while services for tourism, microtrans, free-of-charge-bus, bus services at border areas and premium Royaltrans will not be available yet. “It will be monitored and evaluated regularly
