TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan advised city residents to spend more time walking and cycling as the city enters a new phase of COVID-19 precautions officially entitled the transition period away from the large-scale social restriction (PSBB).
“A number of crucial protocols must be our main attention through this transition period. Put forth walking and cycling for public mobility but the most important one is to stay at home, wash your hands after going out, limit the number of guests, and maintain your distances,” said Anies Baswedan on Thursday, June 4.
However, the governor noted that the use of motorized vehicles, public or personal, is still permitted only under the COVID-19 health protocols, which mainly limits the number of passengers allowed inside each vehicle.
“Public transports can still operate but with a 50 percent capacity and adopting the principle of physical distancing. Non-public transports such as motorcycle taxis and cars can continue to operate under the COVID-19 protocol,” said the governor.
Previously on Thursday, Anies Baswedan announced the PSBB transition phase which allows certain social activities that used to be banned during the full-PSBB status. The transition will see social, economic, and religious activities gradually allowed to run.
