TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial administration clarified that information related to the extension period of the large-scale social restriction or PSBB policy throughout June 5-18 is a hoax.

“The regional government has neither made nor announced the latest policy related to the PSBB extension in the province to date,” as quoted from the city’s official page against false information dubbed Jala Hoaks, data.jakarta.go.id, on Wednesday, June 3.

False news stating that Governor Anies Baswedan will extend the social restrictions order until June 18 was said to be based on the issuance of a Gubernatorial Decree or Kepgub No. 412/2020 circulated on social media.

Jala Hoaks confirmed that the Kepgub was issued on April 22, 2020, concerning the enforcement of the second-phase restrictions from April 24 to May 7. Besides, Anies imposed the third phase of the policy through Kepgub No. 498/2020 on May 19, 2020, that will end on June 4, 2020.

Therefore, it can be concluded that the policy extension until June 18 is incorrect. The Jakarta administration has not yet made a new decision related to the matter so far.

"The announcement will be delivered officially via a press conference of Jakarta Governor," Jala Hoaks noted.

Anies Baswedan, meanwhile, postponed a press conference on PSBB which was scheduled to take place at 5 p.m, today, June 3.
