TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Airlines under the Lion Air Group, including Batik Air, dan Wings Air, will stop flying temporarily starting Friday, June 5. This is the second time this year that the group suspended its' operation.

From May 27 to 31, the airlines also ceased flights before resuming on June 1.

"We will temporarily stop all passenger flights—domestic and international—starting June 5 until further notice," Danang Mandala Prihantoro, corporate communications strategic officer at Lion Air Group, said in a written statement Tuesday, June 2.

The cause of the suspension is the same as the previous one; many passengers are unable to show complete documents that are required to fly during the Covid pandemic.

"This is what Lion Air Group decided after evaluating prior flights," Danang said.

Passengers with flights on June 5 and after will be refunded with no fees charged. They can also reschedule their trips with no charge.
