Wings Air Offers Direct Flights from Riau to Bintan Island Starting on July 7

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lion Air Group airliner, Wings Air, introduced a new route from Pekanbaru through Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Riau to Bintan Island via Haji Fisabilillah Airport in Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands. The route will start operation on July 7.
The flight from Pekanbaru to Tanjung Pinang is scheduled to depart at 12:30 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) and arrive at 13:40 WIB, with flight number IW-1274. The flight will be available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
“The reverse flight is scheduled to depart at 14:00 and arrive at 15:10 with flight number IW-1275 on the same days,” said Corporate Communications Strategic of Wings Air, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, in a written statement on Saturday, June 10.
The opening of the new route is a strategic step aiming at meeting the increasing request for air travel, as well as an effort to support economic growth in Pekanbaru and Bintan Island.
“The Pekanbaru route, from Riau to Tanjung Pinang in Bintan Island is an interesting route that is worth trying by many as it will bring many benefits,” said Danang.
The first is for its short mileage which will ease travelers, businesses, and the general public to reach their destinations faster and more efficiently.
The distance between Pekanbaru and Tanjung Pinang is about 275 kilometers, so it will only need 60 minutes to fly using the direct flight. In addition, passengers do not need to transit or change flights in other cities, so it will cut travel time.
