TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two Lion Air Group low-cost carriers, Lion Air and Wings Air, are set to resume flight operations in the Halim Perdanakusuma Jakarta International Airport after the airport completed its revamp.
"Currently, preparations are being made such as ground service equipment, flight documents, and others so that the process of air travel for passengers is smooth and safe," said Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air Group, Danang Mandala Prihantoro in a statement Wednesday, August 31.
He added that the company is preparing operational services that will pander to market demands for the short and medium term. Prihantoro believes flights from Halim Perdanakusuma will help reduce travel time for city residents that intend to fly to other regions.
“Flight routes will be operated gradually which includes the older routes that are re-operated and new routes,” said Prihantoro.
Meanwhile, another Lion Air Group subsidiary, Batik Air, plans to serve flights to 17 cities that include Medan, Padang, Riau, Batam, Palembang, Bengkulu, Lampung, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Malang, Surabaya, Bali, Balikpapan, Samarinda, Makassar and Maluku.
