TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Syafrin Liputo confirmed that the inspection of the Exit and Entry Permit (SIKM) will be resumed until the emergency period of the Covid-19 pandemic is declared complete.
“News saying the SIKM checkup will no longer be needed after June 7, 2020, and homecoming or mudik travelers can freely return to Jakarta after that date is not true,” said Syafrin via a written statement on Friday, May 29.
The permit inspection held during the homecoming return in border areas of Jakarta Greater Area or Jabodetabek with other regions was still ongoing until June 7, 2020.
The inspection will then be resumed in border areas of Jakarta with its neighboring regions, namely Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi.
Syafrin underlined travelers must show SIKM in the checkpoints in Jabodetabek borders. This is as mandated in the Gubernatorial Regulation No. 47/2020 concerning the restriction of people’s movement in and out of Jakarta in an effort to contain the spread of Covid-19.
SIKM, he added, was only intended for 11 sectors exempted from the PSBB order. “So people who are not related to the 11 sectors are barred from leaving or entering Jakarta.”
