TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As of Saturday, May 23, 2020, the Ministry of Villages, Remote Areas Development, and Transmigration has channeled Village Funds direct financial aid to 40,086 villages. The number covers 67 percent of the total 59,453 villages that have received fund transfer to their village treasury account.

"We are catching up with village funds that have been channeled to villages so they can spend it as Direct Financial Aid," said the Ministry of Villages, Remote Areas Development, and Transmigration Abdul Halim Iskandar in a written statement dated Saturday, May 23, 2020.

Halim said that on Friday, May 22, 2020, the channeling of village funds has been carried out for 3,074 villages.

According to Halim, as many as 4,172,053 households have received direct financial aid. The total amount of channeled funds have reached more than IDR 2.5 trillion.

"Just yesterday there has been channeling to 369,686 households in the form of funds [totaling] IDR 221,811,600,000," Halim said.

Halim asserted that villages that are ready to channel the Direct Financial Aid has completed their special village assembly. The assembly is conducted to discuss the proper beneficiary of the financial aid.

"As of today, as many as 57,899 villages have conducted special assembly. This equals to 99 percent of the villages that received the village funds. In one day, it is recorded that 1,159 villages conducted village assembly," he said.
