TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The IKN Authority's Deputy of Finance and Investment Department Agung Wicaksono mentioned that his side is currently proposing the Nusantara Financial Center or NFC development study.
"I say the groundbreaking is not targeted this year or the next. But the planning should be done at least next year," he said in between the Workshop of International Financial Center IKN in Jakarta on Monday, December 11, 2023.
According to Agung, groundbreaking must be conducted alongside the existence of detailed planning. "The basic spatial planning already existed but we need detailed planning such as the urban design guideline," he said.
After the urban design guideline, the IKN Authority will develop investment packages to offer potential investors. "If there are [interested] investors, we will proceed to negotiation, study, and cooperation. The groundbreaking is conducted after the cooperation is agreed," said Agung.
For now, the IKN Authority is focusing on the governmental center development at the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) in the first zone. Meanwhile, Agung said, the financial center will be located in the second zone.
Going forward, Agung hoped the area would become an economic center to attract investment. Agung stressed that this area developed in the Nusantara Capital City would create an opportunity for economic growth, especially in regard to equality.
The development of the IKN financial center will be conducted on 17,206 hectares of land. According to Agung, the budget would be bigger than KIPP's developmental budget of Rp466 trillion.
