Previously, the state head held a meeting with a number of labor representatives to discuss the draft bill. They met the president’s invitation at the palace amid the coronavirus pandemic.
With the postponement, Jokowi added, the government and the DPR would have more time to explore substances of the crucial articles. “And to collect inputs from stakeholders,” he said.
Gerindra party politician Supratman Andi Atgas, who is also the chairman of the working committee overseeing the job creation bill, suggested the deliberation of the controversial articles in the bill be delayed. However, the discussions about other subjects in the bill could be resumed.
