TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Persahabatan Hospital (RSUP) was looking after a total of 24 babies born to COVID-19 positive women and patients under monitoring (PDP).

The RSUP Director Rita Rogayah said the newborns were under the hospital’s care since early March. “We have also cases of babies born to mothers who are PDP or tested positive for the disease,” she said during an online press conference on Thursday, April 23.

Rita explained they are still being treated at the hospital to date. “Even though the babies have not tested positive yet,” she added.

The hospital has now treated 54 patients related to the novel coronavirus disease, of which 19 positive patients and the rest 35 are classified as PDP.

Since the beginning of March, RSUP has treated a total of 414 patients. Of the figure, 205 positive patients, 54 PDP, and 55 ODP. In addition, as many as 96 patients had recovered and were allowed to go home, Rita outlined.

Out of the 96 people permitted to leave the hospital, 38 people had been declared healthy, while 58 others were sent home for self-isolation as their condition improved.

Persahabatan Hospital also recorded the death of 76 COVID-19 patients, 12 PDP, and 21 other patients. Rita elaborated that 85 percent of the positive patients who succumbed to the virus had congenital diseases, such as heart disease, kidney disease, and hypertension.
