TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta COVID-19 Task Force has administered 62,000 coronavirus rapid tests, as of today, Tuesday, April 21, 2020.

"A total of 62,100 people have undergone rapid tests with 2,248 tested positives,” said Jakarta COVID-19 Task Force member Ani Ruspitawati at a press conference in Jakarta, on Tuesday, April 21.

The test revealed that 3.6 percent of Jakarta residents tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease, with 59,852 people declared negative.

Previously, Chief of the Jakarta Health Service, Widyastuti, explained that if an individual was tested positive, the rapid test will be followed by a swab test, along with self-isolation whilst waiting for the results of the swab test.

On the other hand, if an individual was tested negative, another rapid test is set to be administered to the individual, seven to ten days after the first test. In addition, they are also asked to undergo self-isolation or referred to a hospital, if their conditions worsen.

Widyastuti stated that the rapid tests have been prioritized for people who are prone to the virus transmissions, such as medical personnel and people who have previously been in contact with positive COVID-19 patients, as well as patients and people under monitoring (PDP and ODP).
