TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPR) Legislation Body (Baleg) is reportedly prepared to discuss the job creation omnibus draft Bill known as RUU Cipta Kerja, which is significantly unpopular among members of the public.

“The virtual meeting will be held at 13:00,” said Baleg deputy and PDIP politician Rieke Diah Pitaloka on Sunday.

Last week saw the DPR legislation body holding a meeting with the government upon the creation of an RUU Cipta Kerja work committee (Panja), which the meeting eventually produced. The work-committee has scheduled to invite stakeholders and relevant experts to discuss the draft law.

The result of the aforementioned meeting with stakeholders will determine the future inventory list of problems (DIM) that will be formed by the factions in parliament. The DIM from each faction will be gathered together after the aspirations about the matter are completely gathered.

House legislators will prioritize discussing RUU Cipta Kerja materials that do not present a systemic impact or those that are not rejected by the public.

Following the Legislation Body’s meeting on Tuesday, April 14, the inventory list of problems discussion will start from issues that are “easier to discuss” and will gradually be continued to materials that are more “difficult.”
