TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto evaluated that nine of the National Strategic Programs (PSN) have been scrapped from the list, since the completion of the project extending further than 2024.

"There are currently 232 new project proposals. Eighty-four project proposals have been submitted from 5 Ministries, 123 project proposals came from 13 Regional Governments, 17 project proposals came from 4 State-owned/ Region-owned enterprises, and 8 project proposals came from the private sector," Airlangga said in a press release, on Thursday, April 16, 2020.

Airlangga Hartarto, with Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and a number of other ministers from the cabinet, have attended a Coordination Meeting (Rakor) to finalize the list of proposed PSN, on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

In terms of its construction, Airlangga continued, as of 31 December 2019, 88 percent of the PSN had completed preparations, including the 35,000 MegaWatt (MW) electricity program and the Economic Equity Policy Program.

On the other hand, 12 national strategic programs are still in preparation, including a project in the aviation industry.

In the coordination meeting, Luhut revealed that he has coordinated with Airlangga, in order to identify which projects can instead be funded by the private sector. “So, (funding) will not only come from the State Budget (APBN),” he said.

With the assigning of the PSN status, Luhut hopes that private investment projects that have been stalling can continue to progress immediately.
