TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Three regional governments in the Greater Tangerang region will hold a coordination meeting to discuss the implementation of the Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), geared to curb the COVID-19 outbreak.

“We will meet together at the regional leadership coordination forum (forkopimda) in Tangerang Raya, which will be facilitated by the Banten Provincial Government, to discuss the steps that will be taken during the implementation of the PSBB,” said Tangerang Mayor Arief Wismansyah, in a written statement, on Monday, April 13, 2020.

The Tangerang City Government had previously submitted a PSBB application to the Ministry of Health.

According to Arief, other regional governments in the Greater Tangerang region, such as the Tangerang Regency and the South Tangerang City Government, had also submitted applications to the Ministry of Health for the implementation of the PSBB in the region.

“If Jakarta is the only (region implementing) PSBB and the regions around it do not equally implement it, the PSBB won’t be effective,” added Arief.
