TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The South Jakarta City Government sprayed disinfectant liquid using drones to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, on the protocol road stretching from the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) to the Pemuda Statue, South Jakarta, on Friday, March 27, 2020. The effort is one step to reduce the spread of Corona.

The spraying of disinfectant liquid using argos type drones has been assisted by members of the Indonesian Air Force and the Aero Sport Indonesia Federation (FASI). The drones used have capacities of 10 and 16 liters of disinfectant liquid, respectively.

"We hope that the spraying of disinfectants can minimize and handle the COVID-19 outbreak in South Jakarta, especially in the Senayan district. Hopefully, the residents can return to their activities again as before," said Senayan District Chief Kurnia Rita in a written statement.

The Indonesian Air Force Chief of Aerospace Potential, Marshal Madya Basuki Rachmat, said the activity was carried out to help the South Jakarta City Government program. Spraying, he said, would be done depending on the request of the city government.

"In addition to South Jakarta, we will also be spraying (disinfectants) at other locations. For Saturday, (we will spray) at the HI Roundabout, Sunday in the Old City (Kota Tua), and Sunday afternoon at Citragrand," said Basuki.

Based on the official website corona.jakarta.go.id, until March 26, 2020 at 6:00 PM Jakarta time, as many as 515 COVID-19 positive patients were recorded in the capital; 324 of them are still undergoing isolation treatment at a number of hospitals, while 1,113 others are undergoing isolation at home.

A total of 1,895 people in Jakarta are also registered as People under Monitoring (ODP), of which 468 people are still undergoing the monitoring process and the remaining 1,427 have finished being monitored by the relevant Health Office. On the other hand, 916 people are now recorded as Patients under Surveillance (PDP),with 609 people still undergoing treatment while 307 people have recovered and went home.

The accumulated number of ODP and PDP during the COVID-19 outbreak in the South Jakarta region occupies the highest position, at a total of 459 people.
